Nearly 5 years following aesthetician and makeup artist, Taylor Basil’s launch of her boutique skincare line, Selfmade Cosmetics, the brand needs to catch up with the founder’s skill development. Developed in partnership with myself, the original brand launch with 4 flagship products that formed a routine kit, along with a selection of additional skus. SMC was initially e-commerce only and paired seamlessly with the aesthetician services also offered. In 2022 the brand is undergoing an evolution that truly embodies the gritty persistence of the founder’s core. Best-selling classics are being modified upon customer feedback, the brand is evolving into a lifestyle with refined appeal and the business strategy has many exciting surprises in store.
As time has flown by, Taylor and myself reconnected to learn that we’re both bringing a whole new arsenal of skill and network to enhance an already-great line of skincare products created by Taylor in 2018. I am spearheading the visual identity of the brand, new product designs and brand spirit throughout all points of communication.
